Through a Slice of History


In the 19th century, the British toiled up through the dense malarial jungle to Ooty, at 7,400 ft, ‘passing through the Valley of Death,’ to find, to their delight, ‘such lovely English rain, such delicious English mud.’

A heritage walk from St. Stephen’s Church, 1829 to The Nilgiri Library, 1867.
